Taking ea continuing education is a task that anyone in the business knows they will be doing on an ongoing basis.  We are required to stay current on our enrolled agent continuing education and need to take a certain number of refreshers every couple of years.  It is very common in our industry since the rules seem to change everyday and we need to keep up with all of the changes.  I just wish we would get paid more or have the classes paid for by our employer.  Most companies expect you to take the courses to stay certified but do not help with the expense.  It is essentially a cost of doing business.

I try to make a habit of setting aside $20 each paycheck so that I have extra money set aside when it is time of me to take a new course.  Not everyone is as disciplined as I am so they normally just charge the classes or test.  I learned the hard way when  did not have the funds to take my first continuing education class.
